We hope everyone enjoyed their time off and spent time with their families. On Wednesday, November 28th we had our College Signing Day here from 8:30 A.M.-12 EM. All students K- 12 have signed to the college in which they'd like to attend. We sent a letter home with K-4 so their parents could help them choose a college. The day went very well. and we want to thank The application deadline for Alfa and Alabama Farmers Federation scholarships is Dec. 1. Applicants must plan to pur- sue agriculture or forestry undergraduate degrees at Auburn University. The scholarships, valued up to $1,750 per recipient per year, are available for new or current Auburn University students studying in the College of Agriculture or School of Forestry. Students majoring in agricultural engineering or ag education are also eligible. "This scholarship program is an excellent resource not only for students, but for everyone everyone who helped m~" this day successful. We hope to be able to have another college signing day in the future. Our teachers had Professional Development Day on Thursday, November 29th from 1 P.M. - 3 EM. Our stu- dents were dismissed at h00 P.M. We also, had our Senior Beta Club induction at 10:00 A.M. , our Junior Beta Club induction at 10:45 A.M., and our S.G.A. Induction at 11:15 A.M. Congrats you guys! Keep up the good work! The students collected over 900 cans of food for the needy families in Marengo County. Ice cream par- ties for the classes that collected the most canned goods will be held after Thanksgiving. Selection of AISA All-Star Football team is based on coaches nomination of seniors who are All-Star quality Football players. Region coach- es then vote on nominees based on the players performance throughout the season to deter- mine this years All-Star team. Senior Cheerleaders are eli- gible to try-out for the All-Star squad at the AISA cheerleader camps held during July each year. Over 50 girls tried out for 24 positions on the All-Star West cheer squad this summer. Selections are made by the UCA staff based on the per- formance of cheers, jumps and Each year the Clarke Prep football players vote on a Senior Cheerleader as their Football Queen. This years queen is Rachel Gavin of Sweetwater. This is her third year cheering for the Gators. Rachel was a football manager for 2 years before joining the cheer squad. She was Cheer Captain last year. Rachel is the daughter of Craig and Betsy Gavin of Sweet Water in astuntgroup. Dixons Mills Annual Congratulations to these Seniors for making the All-Star team • Christmas Parade The Alabama Horse Fair returns January 19 and 20, 2013 to the Garrett Coliseum com- plex in Montgomery, Alabama. This Fair boasts one of the largest equine-related trade shows in the Southeast, hosting a large array of vendors from across the country and some of the top horse folks around. Hours are 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Saturday, and 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission $10 per per- son, 6 and under free. This year's event is an Equine Entertainment -Extravaganza: demonstrations by top Hunter, Jumper and Dressage riders, Parade of Breeds and Breed Barn exhibits, Country Singer Templeton Thompson, pro- grams for the youth, clinicians educating horse owners in a variety of areas, drill team demos, free advice from profes- sional veterinarians and farriers and so much more. In addition, Sunday's high- light event will be the return of the Trail Horse Competition with a $2500 purse and belt buckles for the High Point Alabama Adult and Youth Winners. Participants will come from Alabama and nearby states to test their trail horse's ability. It's pure excitement for the audience! On Saturday AND Sunday, 4 clinics (two each day) will be offered where folks can bring their own horses and get 3 hours of instruction from professional trainers.
