Eric F. Hurt
Graveside services were held June 12
Eric E Hurt, 89 (August 4,
1922) passed away, with his
family near him, June 10,
2012 at the Veterans
Community Living Center in
Tuscaloosa. He had been a
residenl/patient in their, care
since December 22, 2011.
Graveside funeral services
were held on Tuesday, June
12, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Linden
Memorial Park with Rev.
Warren Huggins, Pastor of
Providence Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife
of 66 years, Geraldine Barley
Hurt, two sons, Frank
(Barbara) and Gerald (Jeri) all
of Gallion, and one daughter
Carol Norris (George) of
Jefferson; grandchildren,
Jason Hurt (Amber) and Amy
Parr (Jim) of Demopolis,
Darryl Hurt (Angie) of
Gallion, and Angela (Scott
Biggs) of Demopolis; great
grandchildren are Taylor,
Seth, and Holley Hurt of
Gallion, Anna Grace and
Emma Kate Parr and Cassidy
Crawford of Demopolis; two
sisters, Myrtis Ramsey of
Nanafalia and Dorothy Barr
of Miami, FL.
Mr. Hurt grew up in the
midst of family and friends of
Sweet Water, Nanafalia, and
Beaver Creek. He remained
fond of his home places.
He enlisted in the Army Air
Corps and became a POW in
a German Camp (Austria)
after the plane in which he
served as a gunner was shot
down, He was a prisoner for
17 months. Upon his release,
he was awarded several
medals for bravery and
wounds suffered.
Mr. Hurt retired from
James River (Naheloa Mill)
where he worked for many
years. He had also enjoyed
cattle farming, gardening and
an occasional deer hunt when
he thought he might get a
chance at a "biggun".
Home to Mr. Hurt for 63
years was Gallion. He raised
his family and minded his
own business. He was a quiet-
good man.
He is preceded in death by
his mother (Blanche Kirkham
Hurt), his father (Floyd Hurt)
and two brothers (Benton and
Selden).

Ruby Bernice 'Farmer age
84 of Dixon Mills, died
Sunday, June 3, 2012 at her
home. She was born August 8,
1927 in Marengo County. She
was a former telephone oper-
ator and a member of the
Dixons Mills Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held
at Dixons Mills Baptist
Church on Wednesday, June
6, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev.
Leon Harrison officiating.
Burial was at Dunning
Cemetery in Dixons Mills.
